Description
The Edmonds Oil Dock is a wonderful
dive if your looking for an abundance of sealife. Depending
on your preference, you can either dive during high tide
making a LONG surface swim (about 200' ) or low tide and
have a long walk. To give you and idea of what I mean,
the above picture was taken during low tide. Either way,
descend when you're near the end of the dock and begin
your dive.
The underneath of the pier is littered
with numerous pieces of junk that has collected over the
years providing wonderful hiding places for critters. For
this reason you will find the largest number of animals
underneath the dock , but you will need a light for navigation.
Some of the life you should find include: wolf eels, occasional
octopus, tube worms, crab, and starfish.
Precaution
Please note that the current
can be worth taking note of. If your a new diver this
may not be the best site to dive (or be sure to dive with
someone who is experienced). Combine the current with
the potentially long surface swim and you can have some
issues. Just be careful!
