Kayak Point County Park

Description

This dive site does not have the most to offer in the visual sense but is a site to take note of. If your new to diving or have recently purchased gear, this site is wonderful to get acquainted in new environment. You will find Dungeness crab, flounder, hermit crabs and the like along the bottom.

Enter the water at any point along the beach to begin your dive. From north of the Fishing Pier you will find a gradual sandy slope down to 30-40' and then it should start moving deep rather fast. Much deeper then this and you will find a wonderous mud bottom with not all that much to look at.

Again, this is not the most beautiful dive site, but if your new, recently bought gear, or have non-divers with you this is a great location. (Kayak County State Park has many activities for non-dives, making it an ideal group activity).

Location

Head north on I-5 and take the Marysville/Tulalip exit (exit 199) and head west (take a left). Follow the road for approximately 12 miles, take a left onto the park road and follow it down to the beach.
