Mukilteo Oil Dock
Description
The Mukilteo Oil dock is one of
the best locations for crabbing in the Puget Sound area.
In addition to crabbing, you will find an the underside
of the Oil dock filled with life. Be prepared for a long
walk before you reach the entry point, though it's worth
the effort. When you reach the water you will find a moderate
surface swim before you reach the dock. Decend and be sure
to take note of all abundance of crab along the outskirts
of the oil dock.
Location
The Mukilteo Oil Dock is located
at the small community town of Mukilteo, Washington, just
north of the Mukilteo/Whidbey Island Ferry Terminal. It's
approximately 30 miles north of Seattle on I-5. Follow
I-5 north and take the Mukilteo/Whidbey Island Exit. Follow
the highway past Boeing into Mukilteo. Follow the signs
to the ferry dock.(be sure not to enter the ferry lanes)
all the way down to the T intersection. Take a right at
the intersection. Continue until the road bends to the
right and take your immediate left. Here you will be heading
parallel with a RR track and eventually the road will
turn into gravel. At the end of this road you will find
a circular pad where you can park and gear up. Walk out
along the fence and into the water.
